Thermage heats the dermis with monopolar radiofrequency while cooling the surface, so the contraction happens below skin that is protected. It works on skin quality and tightness across a broad field rather than on a focal vector, which is why it is often staged with ultrasound lifting rather than chosen instead of it.

The eye tip is run at a separate setting for periorbital skin, which is thinner and does not tolerate face parameters. Full-face treatment is a single session with the response assessed over the following months.
